Significance of Buddha Day/Vesak

Vesak or Buddha day is celebrated differently across Asia and also the way it’s celebrated depends on the type of buddhism you worship.

The celebration of Buddha day is to commemorate the birth of the Buddha and the death of Buddha and his enlightenment. It is usually celebrated on the full moon of the month May. 

The celebration itself is a colourful festival filled with lanterns, dragons, and vegetarian food and flower offerings. It is a peaceful harmonious ceremony dedicated to buddha and celebrated as a whole community usually.
